The Server Compliance and Infrastructure Team at KAK Infotech is issuing an important security advisory for all Managed Server, VPS, Dedicated Server, Cloud Hosting, and Shared Hosting customers following the recently disclosed industry-wide Linux vulnerability known as “Copy Fail” (CVE-2026-31431) affecting multiple Linux operating systems and hosting infrastructures globally.

About the “Copy Fail” Security Issue

Recent cybersecurity reports confirmed that the “Copy Fail” vulnerability impacts several Linux kernel versions used across hosting environments and control panel infrastructures worldwide. Security researchers reported that the vulnerability may allow unauthorized privilege escalation and root-level access on affected systems if security patches are not applied immediately.

All critical infrastructure updates and security compliance activities are being prioritized and are expected to be completed within the next 3 days on priority basis.

Customers are advised to:

  1. Verify active backups for all hosting accounts and servers.
  2. Maintain offline/local copies of important website and database files.
  3. Rotate hosting, SSH, FTP, and control panel passwords after maintenance.
  4. Review account activity logs for unauthorized access attempts.
